The motto of Foresta represents our beliefs and values as educators who elevate understanding as the tool to enjoy a fulfilling life, facing and embracing challenges and constant change to transform our world into a better and more balanced place.
Our motto serves as a guide we must follow to make our mission a reality. At Foresta, we see understanding as the key that opens the doors to comprehend the world and empowers our students with the strength to assimilate their physical and socio-emotional environment, while also fostering lifelong learning.
Foresta represents an ambitious educational project that brings together leading experts in the field of international education, with challenging and innovative programs and cutting-edge educational trends.
Our school community learns and grows in unparalleled spaces, designed to inspire and help understand the world around them in collaboration with others. This combination makes Foresta International School a unique and pioneering proposal never before seen in Mexico.
Our name is inspired by the unique characteristics of the forest, a vast ecosystem with infinite possibilities, where each of its elements is key to the system's harmony and sustainability.
Similarly, Foresta, like a forest, is made up of a professional team that works collaboratively to provide the highest quality international education. Foresta motivates its students to be lifelong learners and guides them toward their own transformation in a world of constant challenges and changes.
The creation of Foresta arises from the need to establish an attractive and functional educational environment where children and adolescents can develop their full potential in a unique setting surrounded by nature and with standards surpassing any local educational offering.
Foresta, as a cutting-edge school, promotes international education that leads its students to develop a global mindset while respecting and celebrating the diversity of each member of our school community.
"To inspire our students to become thoughtful leaders, capable of positively transforming their environment through the development of their talents, skills, and understanding of the world around them."
"In 3 years, to become the best international educational option in the northern area of Mexico City, developing bilingual, open-minded leaders in an innovative and collaborative educational environment."
Education at Foresta is based on the IB (International Baccalaureate) methodology, an international program founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1968. The program's objective is focused on developing internationally minded individuals who share the perspective of creating a better world through education.
At Foresta, we believe in building "understanding" through concept-based education, which provides our students with the necessary tools to face and transform the world. We highlight each of our students' unique values and talents through our comprehensive and personalized programs.
The preschool program has a comprehensive approach centered on play-based education, following the IB components of the Primary Years Programme (PYP). Our stimulating educational model and the socio-emotional program “Second Step” provide essential tools and skills for children to develop and benefit from the diverse learning experiences we offer at Foresta.
Our highly experienced and qualified teachers foster a love for learning and inquiry in our students through meaningful experiences aligned with their reality, in a caring and respectful educational environment.
The primary school is designed for students to construct meaning while learning new concepts that connect to their prior knowledge. Structured inquiry helps students reflect and understand the world in collaboration with others.
Our program views the child as an inquirer, both within school spaces and in the world around them, preparing them for the intellectual challenges of further education and their future careers.
Our curriculum focuses on six disciplinary areas: Language, Social Studies, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Arts, and Physical Education.
At Foresta, there is a balance between disciplinary and transdisciplinary learning. To facilitate this, we implement six inquiry units studied throughout the year in each grade, complemented by disciplinary subjects. Additionally, there are inquiry units that guide students to understand a central idea, enhancing their comprehension of the world or addressing local or global issues of significance.
Our language program is designed to develop students as strong communicators in English, Spanish, and French. English and Spanish are taught as language acquisition, while French is taught as language learning.
We use a dynamic approach to technology, integrating it into each inquiry unit, which comes to life through our Maker Space program. Here, students develop creativity by interacting with tools that enable them to bring their ideas to fruition.
In middle school, our students continue developing their international mindset through the Middle Years Programme (MYP-IB), while the various disciplinary areas they study take on a significant interdisciplinary role. Our students engage in meaningful, high-level cognitive learning experiences that motivate their learning and skill development during this critical stage of life.
At the end of this stage, students complete a personal project that involves understanding and solving a real-life problem. This allows them to apply their talents and competencies while beginning to think about the profession they would like to pursue in the future.
Our complementary program, Physical/Artistic, has been carefully designed to enrich and enhance the creativity of our students while stimulating socio-emotional skills and promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
